Match Preview : Chelsea vs Bournemouth

Chelsea made it a club record 11 straight wins with a third 1-0 victory in a row this time at the expense of Crystal Palace.

They now have Arsenal’s record of 14 wins in a row in their sights but must overcome Bournemouth without key players N’Golo Kante.

Bournemouth have only won one of eight away games this season although they will be happy with their first half of the season. The Cherries are midtable but 16 of their 21 points have come on home soil so little is expected of them here.

Team News

Chelsea – N’Golo Kante and Diego Costa are suspended for Monday’s game against Bournemouth after both picking up their fifth yellow cards of the season. Cesc Fabregas and Michy Batshuayi should profit as a result of their absences. Naija and Bet

Eden Hazard has spent the first part of the week at Cobham to recieve treatment on a minor knee injury and is a doubt for the Boxing Day match at home to Bournemouth.

Bournemouth – Nathan Ake is ruled out of Bournemouth’s Boxing Day trip to Chelsea due to the terms in his loan agreement, which is a real blow for Eddie Howe’s side. This should see Simon Francis move back into the heart of the defence with Adam Smith moving back to right-back.

Eddie Howe conceded he should have rotated more after their 3-1 defeat to Southampton at the weekend but with more than a week’s rest until Monday’s game against Chelsea few surprises are expected.

The Bournemouth manager hinted he could rest Callum Wilson following his return from a long-term knee injury this season, which could benefit Benik Afobe.

Junior Stanislas is closing in on a return but Boxing Day may come too soon for the winger. He is more likely to feature on New Year’s Eve against Swansea.
