West Brom v Everton Permier league match preview

Yannick Bolasie is in line for debut when Everton travel to West Brom in the Premier League on Saturday.

The winger has signed a five-year deal after joining from Crystal Palace, saying the move was a “no-brainer”.

Everton, who drew with Tottenham on the opening day, have also been linked with moves for Joe Hart and Lamine Kone, although manager Ronald Koeman refused to comment on either when asked in his pre-match press conference.

“What I don’t like is to talk about rumours,” he said. “They could go on for two weeks more, with so many players linked with Everton.” Naija and Bet

West Brom boss Tony Pulis has been talking about potential transfers ahead of the match, saying he wants striker Saido Berahino and defender Jonny Evans to stay.

“Nobody is more keen for Saido to stay than me,” said Pulis.

There has been speculation that Arsenal are interested in Evans, but Pulis said: “The most important thing is that Jonny is with us and we want him to stay because he’s an outstanding player.”

The Baggies beat Crystal Palace 1-0 last weekend thanks to Salomon Rondon’s second-half goal.

Team news

James Morrison is fully fit for West Brom after making his return from injury at Palace last week.

The midfielder suffered a hamstring problem in January but was a late substitute at Selhurst Park and is available again for Saturday’s encounter.

Chris Brunt remains out with a serious knee injury which forced him to miss Northern Ireland’s Euro 2016 campaign but is expected to return to full training in September.

Koeman will make late calls about whether centre-back Ashley Williams has built up sufficient fitness to make his Everton debut and if Romelu Lukaku is fit enough to be involved, the striker having returned to training on Thursday after a heel injury.

Full-back Seamus Coleman is facing another two weeks at least on the sidelines with his ankle problem.

Opta stats

Everton’s only defeat in their last seven league encounters (W3 D3) with West Brom came in February last season when Rondon’s strike separated the sides.

Everton striker Lukaku scored 17 Premier League goals on loan at West Brom in 2012-13; the most goals a WBA player has ever scored in a single Premier League season.

Lukaku has not scored or assisted a single goal in any of his last nine Premier League appearances for Everton; a run stretching back to March 19. In fact, this is Lukaku’s longest goal drought in his Premier League career (nine successive appearances).Rondon has scored in three successive Premier League games for West Brom – the last player to score in four in a row for the club was strike-partner Berahino in October 2014.

Since Tony Pulis took charge of his first game at the club on January 10th 2015, West Brom have kept 22 clean sheets in the Premier League, a tally that only Arsenal (26), Manchester City (23) and Manchester United (23) can better.
