The veteran forward took his tally of league goals for the season to 20 with a sixth minute strike that was followed shortly afterwards by a penalty to set The Birds on their way.
Henrico Botes pulled a goal back in the second half to set up a nervous finish, but Gordan Igesund’s Swallows were able to hold on and moved to within two points of leaders Orlando Pirates.
It meant a win on the final day was essential and they played their part, claiming a 1-0 success at Maritzburg United.
But Pirates came back from 2-1 down to beat Lamontville Golden Arrows 4-2 and claim a second successive Absa Premiership crown.
