CL Match Preview : FC Rostov vs Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich fell to a 1-0 defeat against Borussia Dortmund at the weekend and in doing so they dropped from top spot on points in the Bundesliga for the first time since September 2014.

They have struggled to rediscover their best form under Carlo Ancelotti this season and are currently second in their Champions League group after losing ground to Atletico Madrid .

They haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last five matches in all competitions either, which is further cause for concern for Ancelotti.

FC Rostov and PSV Eindhoven cannot qualify for the next stage of the Champions League but are battling against themselves for the right to finish third and Europa League football.

Both only have one point but PSV have a marginally better goal difference, with both sides set to finish their group stage campaign against each other in a shoot-out for Europa League football.

The Russian side were unbeaten in 26 home matches prior to their 1-0 defeat to Atletico last month. This is not an easy game for Bayern, who are not playing particuarly well.

FC Rostov – FC Rostov have a clean bill of health for the reception of Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich – Kingsley Coman and Javi Martinez are ruled out for the trip to Russia on Wednesday, while Arjen Robben is a doubt. Arturo Vidal missed their 1-0 defeat against Borussia Dortmund through injury and is a doubt here.

Carlo Ancelotti doesn’t really have that many options for changes, but Douglas Costa will be looking for game time here having started against Dortmund on the bench.

Manuer Neuer has a tight calf and will not travel with the squad to Russia, which means Sven Ulreich is set to deputise between the sticks.
