PL Match Preview : Chelsea vs West Bromwich Albion

Chelsea continue to impress and are now three points clear at the top of the Premier League after their 3-1 win away to Manchester City last weekend. Eight league wins in a row is their best run of form in a single season since 2007, when they won nine in a row.

West Brom are also in top form and have even scored more goals (20) than Manchester United this season (19). From the start of November only Chelsea (12) have won more points in the league than the Baggies (10), so this is not an easy fixture for Conte’s men.

Chelsea have actually only won one of their last six against West Brom, and with the Baggies playing their best football in some time, may not extend their winning run here.

Team News

Chelsea – Chelsea come into Sunday’s home meeting against West Brom with fresh injury concerns. Nemanja Matic missed their 3-1 win overManchester City with a muscle problem sustained in training, while Pedro and Diego Costa were forced off during the match with knocks.

All three are expected to recover in time to start, although Cesc Fabregas and Willian are on standby. Oscar, however, is ill and will not feature.

Antonio Conte says he will rotate his squad over the coming games to cope with the busy festive schedule.

West Bromwich Albion – James Morrison is a slight doubt for Sunday’s match which could pave the way for Nacer Chadli to return to the starting XI after being eased back into first-team action following knee surgery.

Gareth McAuley hasn’t trained all week and is a huge question mark. Jonas Olsson is poised to deputise in his place.
