Team News

 Arsenal
  • Alexandre Lacazette faces a long spell on the sidelines after injuring his groin on Wednesday night. Danny Welbeck, Olivier Giroud or Alexis Sanchez are expected to lead the line in his absence.
  • Alex Iwobi is a doubt for the home side after missing the midweek win over Huddersfield with a dead leg.
  • Aside from Lacazette’s absence, no further changes are expected from Arsene Wenger when they host Manchester United on Saturday.
  • Laurent Koscielny hasn’t played three games in a week since April due to on-going treatment on an Achilles problems, but he will surely play here.
Manchester United
  • Nemanja Matic is unlikely to feature for Manchester United after limping off injured in midweek against Watford.
  • Marouane Fellaini is also an injury doubt, but should recover to partner Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba in central midfield.
  • Jose Mourinho is expected to stick with a back three on Saturday and will not change the personnel unless Phil Jones or Eric Bailly can recover from their own injury concerns.
  • Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been cast to the side after a downturn in form and will have to settle for a place on the bench here at best.

Match Facts

Arsenal have won their last 12 home matches (Premier League).

Man Utd are undefeated in 34 of their last 38 matches (Premier League).

Arsenal have scored at least 2 goals in their last 10 home matches (Premier League).

Arsenal have kept a clean sheet in 5 of their last 6 home matches (Premier League).

Arsenal have been winning at both half time and full time in 5 of their last 6 home matches (Premier League).

Prediction

  • Arsenal warmed up for the reception of Manchester United with a thumping 5-0 win over Huddersfield on Wednesday. The Gunners are unbeaten at home this season, winning 10 of their 11 competitive matches at the Emirates.
  • Manchester United thumped Watford 4-2 on Tuesday night but are still eight points adrift of league leaders Manchester City after their late winner on Wednesday. The Red Devils have lost three of their last five away matches in all competitions and now face a tough trip to the Emirates.
  • Jose Mourinho’s record away to the top six sides in the Premier League reads no wins in 11 since August 2015. Furthermore, his teams have only managed to score on two occasions during that run and he needs to find a way to improve on that startlingly poor record. However, Mourinho has only lost 2 of his previous 17 matches against Arsene Wenger.

Napoli are undefeated in 12 of their last 13 home matches against Juventus in all competitions.

Prediction

  • Napoli have shown in recent weeks that they can win playing brilliant football and earn “dirty points” as only top clubs do. They seem to be real contenders for the title this season and the meeting with Juventus will be the ultimate test of their ambitions.
  • Juventus are not far off the top and they have demonstrated in previous seasons how they gain momentum later in the campaign, and when it counts the most. However, they may need this victory more than Napoli to prove that their dominance over Serie A is not over yet.
  • Whatever the outcome, the philosophy recently adopted by both sides suggests this should be an entertaining game, as Juventus boast the best attack in the league and Napoli are renowned for their attacking style.
  • That said, one of the two coaches could make a significant change in order to surprise his opposite number, while Max Allegri has always been more prone to changes than Maurizio Sarri.
