Valencia

Gabriel Paulista remains suspended for Valencia and with Ezequiel Garay and Eliaquim Mangala both ruled out, Francis Coquelin could drop into centre-back alongside Mouctar Diakhaby.

Ferran Torres was fit enough to make the bench at the weekend but Valencia are expected to still be without five players through injury against Atalanta.

Goncalo Guedes and Denis Cheryshev are in competition for a starting berth for the Spanish side. The latter came off the bench and scored in the first leg and could get the nod here.

Atalanta

Atalanta have had over a week between matches and will be well rested ahead of Tuesday’s trip to Spain.

Rafael Toloi and Berat Djimsiti were injury concerns at the start of that period and remain doubts for the away side.

Marten de Roon may have to play at centre-back if neither Toloi nor Djimsiti are fit enough.

Atalanta are protecting a 4-1 lead from the first leg but it remains to be seen whether Gian Piero Gasperini will alter his tactics.

There isn’t really a need for Atalanta to go with two strikers in Valencia, so Ruslan Malinovskiy or Mario Pasalic may partner with Papu Gomez in attacking midfield.
