UEFA CL Match Preview : Bayer Leverkusen vs Tottenham


Bayer Leverkusen will be looking to bounce back from a 2-1 weekend defeat with their first win in the Champions League this season against Spurs. The Bundesliga outfit have drawn their two European matches so far.

Spurs were held to a 1-1 draw on Saturday, but secured victory in Moscow last time out after a 2-1 home loss to Monaco in gameweek 1 of the Champions League.

The Premier League side won their previous meeting between these two, with a Dimitar Berbatov goal separating the pair back in 2006.

Both sides will be out to avoid defeat on Tuesday, with a draw on the cards here.

Bayer Leverkusen : Karim Bellarabi, Vladlen Yurchenko and Joel Pohjanpalo are all ruled out for the welcome of Spurs on Tuesday night.
Lars Bender is a doubt for the hosts and will be assessed closer to kick off.

Roger Schmidt could name the same XI that fell to a 2-1 defeat at Werder Bremen at the weekend.

Tottenham : Spurs were dealt a blow at the weekend when centre-back Toby Alderweireld was forced off with a knee problem in the 1-1 draw with West Brom, with Eric Dier set to start alongside Jan Vertonghen.
Harry Kane is still yet to recover from an ankle injury and misses out.
Heung-min Son, Mousa Dembele and Danny Rose are all expected to come into the side in place of Vincent Janssen, Moussa Sissoko and Ben Davies.
