CL Match Preview – Arsenal vs Paris Saint Germain

Arsenal were underwhelming in the weekend trip to Manchester United, but still came away with a point. The 1-1 draw, though, means the Gunners have failed to win back-to-back games for just the second time this season, which doesn’t bode well for the welcome of PSG.

The French side are in good form coming into this one and are unbeaten in their last nine competitive matches, winning eight.

They currently sit level on points with Arsenal atop Group A in a fixture that will likely determine who comes first. Naija and Bet

In a match that neither team will want to lose, a draw is on the cards.

Team News

Arsenal – Per Mertesacker, Danny Welbeck, Lucas Perez, Chuba Akpom, Theo Walcott and Hector Bellerin are all sidelined for Arsenal.

CL Match Preview : Monaco vs Tottenham

Monaco are favourites to secure all three points in this one and currently top the group with eight points from four games.

They inflicted defeat upon Spurs in the opening gameweek of the competition and have what it takes to earn another victory.

Spurs ended their seven-game winless run with a 3-2 win over West Ham on Saturday, which will have boosted morale coming into this must-win fixture. They have, though, failed to win their last five on their travels and will be up against it in France.

Jardim’s side have what it takes to inflict back-to-back defeats upon Tottenham.

Team News

Monaco – Leonardo Jardim has a full squad to select from ahead of the welcome of Tottenham.

CL Match Preview : Sporting CP vs Real Madrid

Sporting have been relatively unlucky in this group stage campaign to only have three points from their four matches.

However, they weren’t expected to trouble Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund for the top two spots and are still on course to finish third and drop into the Europa League, which would have been the club’s realistic ambition once the group was drawn.

Real Madrid produced their best display of the season when they thrashed city rivals Atletico Madrid 3-0 at the weekend and they will be high in confidence heading into this fixture.

They were fortunate to beat Sporting in the reverse fixture but are in a better place coming into this match, even if they are without some big players. They are unbeaten on the road in all competitions this season and should continue that record in Portugal.

Team News

Sporting CP – Sporting warmed up for the reception of Real Madrid with a 5-1 win in the cup at the weekend, in which Jefferson made his first appearance since the end of September.

It may be too early to throw him in from the start against Madrid, in which case Marvin Zeegleaar will continue at left-back.

They could revert to a back four against Madrid following an experiment with a three-man defence last time out in the Champions League.

Real Madrid – Sergio Ramos could not recover in time to face Atletico Madrid on Saturday and remains a slight doubt for Tuesday’s encounter with Sporting.

Toni Kroos is still injured, while Pepe is and Casemiro are also expected to miss out. Alvaro Morata picked up a hamstring injury during the international break and is ruled out for a month.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored three against Atletico at the weekend in a central striking role, as Karim Benzema was not fit enough to start. The Frenchman is expected to return to the starting XI here, which would push Ronaldo back out to the left.

CL Match Preview : Sevilla vs Juventus

Sevilla are two points clear of Juventus at the top of Group H heading into the last games. Avoiding defeat here would maintain that lead before they travel to Lyon in the final match, which should ensure they finish the group stage as winners.

Juventus have not been at their best this season and a 1-1 draw against Lyon in their last outing in the Champions League could really cost them top spot in Group H. Place your bet on

They have won 10 of their last 12 competitive matches, but we are still waiting to see the best from Max Allegri’s side this season.

Sevilla have been formidable at home this season, winning seven of eight games on home soil. Juventus may not return home with three points here.

Match Preview : AC Milan vs Inter Milan

Milan have won five of their last six matches and are now starting to aim for a top three finish, which is fare beyond where they expected to finish at the start of the season.

Inter sacked Frank de Boer less than three months into the job, which many feel was harsh despite some disappointing performances. New manager Stefano Pioli is in charge of a top team for the first time in his career, but he would have hoped for an easier start to life in the job than a derby against their city rivals.

This clash has received some hype due to Milan’s resurgence, coupled with the fact Inter are now onto their second manager of the season. For the first time in recent years, Milan are on course to fight for a top four finish, but Inter will be determined to crash their party and possibly gain some momentum of their own.

Team News

AC Milan – Alessio Romagnoli picked up a muscular problem with the Italian national team and is now a massive doubt for the derby on Sunday night.

Gustavo Gomez would be his natural replacement, but the Italy international is a major loss for Milan’s defence.

Carlos Bacca is also not safe to start as Gianluca Lapadula is breathing down his neck for playing time.

Inter Milan -Inter appointed their new manager Stefano Pioli during the break, and the derby will be his first game in charge.

Coach Pioli is expected to field a 4-3-3 that makes good use of the flanks, but the exact lineup is not clear yet.

Compared to Inter’s previous formations, he might leave out Ever Banega at start against Milan.

Match Preview : Middlesbrough vs Chelsea

Middlesbrough have earned two impressive draws against Arsenal and Manchester City in their last three matches when using a 4-5-1 formation. They are expected to opt for the same tactics against a rampant Chelsea side.

Chelsea have won each of their last five matches at an aggregate scoreline of 16-0. They have been immense since switching to 3-4-3 and it will take a huge effort from the home side to take points from Antonio Conte’s side here. The fact Eden Hazard and Diego Costa come into this fixture with slight knocks could help them, however.

These two sides haven’t met since 2013 but Chelsea have won each of their last six matches against Middlesbrough, and ominously, haven’t conceded a goal in that time. In fact, Boro haven’t scored against Chelsea since 2006 when Mark Viduka and Emanuel Pogatetz gave them a 2-1 win over Chelsea. It’s hard to see them getting anywhere close to that result on Sunday.

Team News

Middlesbrough – Middlesbrough can welcome back Gaston Ramirez to the team after he missed their 1-1 draw with Manchester City through suspension.

Match Preview : Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid

Atletico Madrid have been out of sorts of late in La Liga, as Los Colchoneros have lost two of their last three league games, falling to away defeats against both Sevilla and Real Sociedad.

At home, however, Simeone’s men are still unbeaten this campaign, but have failed to keep clean sheets in their last two matches at the Vicente Calderon.

Real Madrid recorded their first clean sheet in 11 games last time out, and are unbeaten in their last 16 away league outings.

Team News

Atletico Madrid – Antoine Griezmann is a doubt for the home side, but should start despite picking up a foot injury on international duty with France.

Match Preview : Tottenham vs West Ham

Tottenham have failed to win their last seven in all competitions, though are the last remaining unbeaten Premier League team this season. The return to fitness of Harry Kane will come as a boost to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

West Ham, meanwhile, have lost only one of their last six competitive outings, but have won only three league games all campaign. They have also failed to win their last two league visits to White Hart Lane and Saturday’s trip to north London won’t be an easy one to navigate.

With that, Spurs could return to winning ways against the Hammers, who are without key players for the weekend’s fixture.

Team News

Tottenham – Tottenham are without Marcus Edwards, Erik Lamela, Ben Davies and Toby Alderweireld through injury.

Match Preview : Southampton vs Liverpool

Southampton have a number of injuries to contend with this weekend and that could ultimately prove their downfall against a rampant Liverpool side. Claude Puel’s side are struggling for consistency, winning three of their last nine competitive matches.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are unbeaten in their last 12, winning 10 of those matches. They are top of the Premier League and scoring goals for fun.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have scored 10 in their last two matches and could look to target Southampton down the sides of their defence with both of their regular full-backs expected to miss out through injury. Naija and Bet

Southampton triumphed 3-2 the last time the two sides met, but Liverpool generally come out on top when these two meet at Saint Mary’s. Liverpool have won three of the last four at Southampton, scoring 13 goals in that time.

Team News

Southampton – Pierre-Emile Højbjerg is a doubt for this fixture after being forced to withdraw from the Denmark squad with a knock.

Ryan Bertrand also picked up an injury during the international break, while Fraser Forster was forced to withdraw from the England squad at the start of the break. All three are expected to be fit this weekend.

Dusan Tadic suffered a suspected broken nose with Serbia, but that shouldn’t rule him out this weekend. Cedric Soares also returns.

Southampton are also expected to still be without Shane Long, Jake Hesketh, Alex McCarthy, Matt Targett, Harrison Reed and Jeremy Pied.

Liverpool – Danny Ings has been ruled out for 7-9 months after suffering another knee injury. Sheyi Ojo and Joe Gomez have returned to training but aren’t expected to feature here.

Adam Lallana was forced off in the first half of England’s 2-2 draw with Spain with a suspected calf injury. It’s not thought to be serious, but it may keep him sidelined here nonetheless.

Philippe Coutinho is reportedly an injury doubt since returning from the international break. If he is not fit to feature then Daniel Sturridge will come into the team.

Match Facts

Liverpool have won 7 of their last 8 matches (Premier League).

Liverpool have been winning at both half time and full time in 6 of their last 8 matches (Premier League).

Match Preview : Crystal Palace vs Manchester City

After a commendable run of form, Crystal Palace have faltered of late having failed to win any of their last five league matches, losing four.

The international break will have come as a welcome reprieve for Pardew, though the welcome of Manchester City is not what he will have wanted so soon after the domestic hiatus.

City were forced to settle for a point in the welcome of Middlesbrough last time out as a late goal saw them lose ground in the race for the title. Guardiola’s side, though, have failed to win only one of their last five visits to Selhurst Park, so will be confident of a return to winning ways.

The home support will demand a return to victory, but their winless run could continue on Saturday.

Team News

Crystal Palace – Alan Pardew is without Pape Souare, Loic Remy and Jonathan Benteke due to injury.
